The Alliance Française owes its existence to the desire of its creators to spread the French language throughout the world. This was its first and primary mission and it is this mission which has shaped its identity.
In Paris, the Alliance Française School is listed on the central registry of private higher education establishments of the French Ministry of Education and welcomes more than 13 000 students a year.

DHEF
 

The DHEF (Diplôme de Hautes Etudes Françaises) is a high level diploma (C2) which incorporates not only the French language but also French culture.

At this level students should be able to advise on or talk about complex or sensitive issues, understand colloquial references, including the finer prints of complex texts. They should as well be able to write literary essays with good expression and accuracy.
The exam is prepared through the specially designed class, which involves the study of three literature textbooks including theatre, novel and poetry. 
 

Preparation Course: Préparation au DHEF
- Perfectionnement linguistique
(2 hours per week)
- Littérature ou Traduction
(2 hours per week)

This preparation is a year long (2 terms), the exam takes place in June.
