Thank you so much to everyone who came last Saturday to our very first Winter Open Day!
Our quarterly Open Days will now celebrate a different French-speaking country.
Our friends at the Embassy of Switzerland were showcasing Swiss products & culture including chocolates, cookies, gifts, and wine!
Our next guest will be Luxembourg on March 2nd 2024 for our Spring Open Day .
Visitors had the opportunity of meeting the whole staff and learning about our upcoming French courses, Exams and cultural events.
Newcomers could also meet with some of our French teachers during personalised placement tests for our Winter Term starting next week.
There were lost to discover and taste in our Christmas with delicatessen & wine courtesy of the Swiss Embassy; Books, comics & gifts courtesy of International Books; handmade jewellery courtesy of Eva Wall Cazali / Tournesol; and magazines & suscriptions with Uni-Presse, showcasing the Bayard-Milan collections for toddlers, children, and teenagers.
You can still browse in our Bazaar in themain room with 2nd-hand books, comics, magazines, dvds, cds, and a large selection of vinyls (12″ & 7″) … Nuggets and oddities guaranteed!
The French Library was all hands too with arts & craft workshops for little ones and grown-ups alike who learnt to make paper-based Christmas decoration; a screening of the 2017 animated anthology comedy film Le Grand Méchant Renard adapted from the beloved French comic book.
As part of the Winter Open Day we offered a presentation and guided tour of our iconic listed building with architect Stephen Mulhall, Member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.
We ended our Winter Open Day with the Alliance Française Choir’s Christmas concert at The French Library.
